Our commitment

Everyone should be able to find a home, list a property, verify their identity, and talk with the other side of a sale without barriers. We treat accessibility as part of how we design and build, not as a feature added at the end.

Conformance status

Our target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. VBN + OMS is currently partially conformant with that standard, which means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet it. We are actively working to close the gaps listed under Known limitations.

What we have built in

• Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and a “Skip to main content” link appears on the first Tab.
• A visible focus outline shows where you are on every button, link, and field.
• Pages use headings, landmarks, and labeled form fields so screen readers can navigate them.
• Text and interface colors are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast, in both light and dark mode.
• Images that carry meaning have text alternatives. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Pages reflow to a single column on small screens and when zoomed, without sideways scrolling.
• Animations stop automatically when your device is set to reduce motion.
• Status is never shown by color alone. Verified, pending, and hidden states always include text or an icon.

Use the accessibility settings below, or the accessibility button at the top of every public page, to change text size, contrast, motion, link underlines, text spacing, fonts, the focus outline, and light or dark mode. Your choices are saved on this device and browser.

Compatibility

VBN + OMS is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop and mobile, and with assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, and switch access. It relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript.

Known limitations

We know about the following issues and are working on them. If any of them stops you from doing something, contact us and we will help you complete it another way.

• Interactive maps and activity heatmaps are visual. We provide text descriptions, but some map details are not yet available in a fully equivalent text form.
• Identity verification by Didit and bank connection through Plaid run in their own interfaces. We choose providers that support accessibility, but we do not control their screens.
• Documents that you or other participants upload, such as PDFs, may not be accessible if the original file was not.

How we assess accessibility

We assess VBN + OMS through our own review during design and development, including keyboard, zoom, contrast, and screen reader checks. We plan to complete a full independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit and will update this statement with the results.
